There are plenty of sharks to see
in Papua New Guinea. We saw some
on almost every dive. The divemaster,
at one site, brought some chum down and
tied it to the mooring line. The sharks came
in quickly, and we had a great time watching
them feed. It was quite an experience.
I was intently photographing them, when
suddenly I felt a whack on my back. I thought
my dive buddy, Ellen, had
tried to get my attention and I looked
over towards her. Imagine my surprise when I
saw a tail wrapped around my right side!! The
next thing I knew the shark had bumped me
on my left hip. He was in a hurry to
get to the food, and obviously I had been in
his way. That is the closest encounter with a
shark I ever want to have!!! Besides my heart
practically ripping out of my chest,
I was unharmed. HAHA
