Caribbean Spiny Lobster

The Caribbean Spiny Lobster inhabits the reefs. They hide in protective recesses during the day and forage in the open at night. When they are disturbed, they often swim backwards rapidly using powerful strokes of their tails. They do not have the large front claws like their cousins the Atlantic Coast lobster.
