Green Moray Eel

The Green Moray has a wide range of habitats, from murky bays to clear-water reefs. However, they hide during the day in any crevasse or recess they can find. They usually have their heads extended from the openings. They forage in the open at night, and can be seen free-swimming then. They constantly open and close their mouths, an action required for respiration, which divers take as being aggressive. They usually allow divers to approach closely, before they withdraw into the recess.
